How Networking Events Can Help Your Career Growth
Are you attending professional networking and business events? If not, here are a few reasons why you should be!

Ahhh, networking events. The chances are that we've thought about attending them at one stage or another in our career. Some of us have gone that step further and attended them. But are you getting what you should be out of them? Here are a few reasons why you should be attending professional networking events and how you can make the most of them-
1. It will help you to build your brand and get your name out there
Building your brand is more important now than ever before. With a competitive jobs marketplace and increasing background noise, it’s vital that people remember you. Repetition is just one way in which people will remember you – getting out there, attending events and meeting new people will help this!
2. You never know which opportunities you might come across
Meeting fellow professionals is the best way to find new opportunities (apart from PushFar’s platform – of course). Attending events is a brilliant way of meeting in a more relaxed social environment, discussing where opportunities may lie and potentially jumping onto them too.
3. Technology is easier, but events are more meaningful
As a technology company ourselves, we know how easy and valuable technology is. But it’s no substitute for real-life interaction and meetings. We all have thousands of contacts, ever increasing networks of colleagues and the truth is that people get lost and forgotten. Meeting in person and attending events stands out far more than a cold-call or an email.
4. People are more approachable and open
When people attend networking events it is because they are open to opportunities and far more approachable – that’s the whole point! If you’ve ever tried your hand at ‘cold emailing’ or ‘cold calling’ then you’ll know how low the return can be. Events are entirely different – people want to be approached and are far more open to opportunities because they are expecting them.
5. They’re fun
Yes, we know that this one doesn’t necessarily help you with career progression, but the truth is that meeting new people and attending networking events can be great fun! At the end of a working day, they can be a fun occasion and the chance to meet exciting individuals, learn about other roles, industries and companies.
